What is the best way to make money online?

I think I tried almost everything. I tried to polls paid, but money was not worth it and I was not getting many of them. I also wanted to be an About.com guide, but my expertise is already taken. I am a junior high school (16) who participates in various sports clubs and so I have no time for real job. It seems that most jobs that pay well require experience or a college degree and I do not have one of these. Is there a good paying job that requires no experience or college degree? Some additional tips: I would like to play video games, and I watch anime

Money Madness

$5.93

Much of the enjoyment inherent in Money Madness can be derived from watching Hugh Beaumont, nine years before his Ward Cleaver stint on TV’s Leave It to Beaver, playing a low-down, dirty-rat heavy. Armored-car driver Steve Clark (Beaumont) gets tired of hauling around other people’s money and begins drawing up plans to accumulate his own loot. Using inside information, Clark manages to pilfer 200 grand without arousing the suspicions of the authorities. He then weds heiress Julie (Frances Rafferty), for the express purpose of murdering both her and her wealthy aunt Cora (Cecil Weston). Only attorney Donald (Harlan Warde) figures out that the smooth-talking Clark is up to no good, but by then it’s too late. Hugh Beaumont’s cold-blooded performance in the film’s final scenes is enough to make one fear for the future safety of Barbara Billingsley, Tony Dow and Jerry Mathers. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Color of Money, The

$6.16

Oscar-nominated in 1961 for his performance as pool hustler Fast Eddie Felson in The Hustler, Paul Newman won that award a quarter century later when he reprised the role in The Color of Money. At the end of The Hustler, Felson was banned for life from playing the game professionally. In the intervening years, he has become what the despicable George C. Scott was in the 1961 film: a front man for younger hustlers, claiming the lion’s share of the winnings. His latest client is arrogant young Tom Cruise, who is goaded into accepting Felson’s patronage by his avaricious girl friend Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. Cruise learns not only the refinements of the game, but also the dirty trickery that will help him lure in the suckers. As Cruise becomes successful on these terms, Felson seethes with jealousy, hitting the bottle and carelessly allowing himself to fall victim to another hustler. He tells Cruise to get lost, and vows to make an honest comeback. It is inevitable from this point onward that the younger and the older player will square off in a game for the biggest stakes of all: Fast Eddie Felson’s self-respect. Both the original Hustler and The Color of Money were based on novels by Walter Tevis. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Mad Money

$8.48

A woman who was used to the finer things in life is suddenly thrust back into the work force after her husband gets downsized in writer/director Callie Khouri’s (Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood) American adaptation of the hit British comedy Hot Money. Faced with the prospect of losing her home as her debt begins to mount, posh housewife Bridget (Diane Keaton) accepts a job on the midnight cleaning crew at a local branch of the Federal Reserve Bank. When the growing temptation of the cash that surrounds her night after night ultimately proves too powerful to resist, Bridget teams with two of the other cleaners for a criminal exercise in creative moneymaking. Queen Latifah and Katie Holmes co-star in a crime comedy inspired by actual events. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi up. But will they ever have enough mad money, or will greed be their downfall? The fun here is in how three average women pull off a remarkably low-tech scam in the midst of super-high security levels, hidden cameras, and constant monitoring. Keaton, Latifah, and Holmes make a nice team, playing very different women with very different needs. Keaton’s Bridget is trying to maintain her family’s comfortable, upper-middle-class lifestyle when her husband no longer can. Meanwhile, the sole concern of Latifah’s single mom, Nina, is keeping her sons out of trouble despite their surroundings. And Holmes’s Jackie is a one-of-a-kind free spirit, dancing to the beat of her own drummer. Danson has some of the film’s best lines as he tries to put his wife’s actions into perspective.

No Wow

It’s hard to believe that the Kills could sound even darker, tighter, and more stripped-down than they did on Keep on Your Mean Side, but somehow they managed it: No Wow is one of the most highly concentrated rock albums in a long, long time. In fact, its tight focus and barely relenting intensity make Keep on Your Mean Side’s more traditional ebb and flow feel downright slack. The band’s throbbing guitars, to-the-point rhythms, and sexy, dangerous lyrics have been simmered and tempered down to their barest essences, so much so that No Wow often feels like a stark, stylized caricature of rock. Less is usually more for the Kills, though, and they sound more powerful, more confident, and more distinctive here than they did on their debut. “No Wow” itself is a fantastic opener, a powerful statement of intent and of curdled but still compelling love (or lust), the likes of which hasn’t been heard since Rid of Me’s title track. From there, the album doesn’t let up until the sweetly narcotized “I Hate the Way You Love, Pt. 2.” Most of No Wow feels like monochromatic variations on the same sounds and themes — monochromatic, but not monotonous. Wisely, the Kills have chosen to let their drum machine sound like a drum machine, giving songs like “Love Is a Deserter” a skeletal clatter for a backbone, and others, such as “The Good Ones” and “Sweet Cloud,” a piston-like thrust. The magnificently taut “Dead Road 7″ adds shades of menacing, mysterious country/blues storytelling to the band’s songwriting, a direction they should pursue more. At times, No Wow can feel a little too compressed and high-contrast for its own good — the album downplays the poppier moments that balanced Keep on Your Mean Side’s onslaughts. However, since there are so few soft, slow songs here, they’re thrown into even sharper relief. “Rodeo Town” is one of the loveliest, and grittiest, ballads that the band has written, and “Ticket Man” ends the album on a hypnotic, reflective note. And though Hotel’s vocals are also downplayed (and missed), it has to be said that VV does a compelling job of handling the lioness’ share of the singing. A tight, mean set of songs, No Wow feels like a fight going on in a closet — there’s no room for punches to swing, but all of the shoving and grappling makes just as big an impact. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi Performers: Alison Mosshart – Vocals

Wow!

Bananarama followed up their hit-laden True Confessions, which spawned their international chart-topping version of “Venus,” with 1987′s Wow! True Confessions witnessed the emerging role of Stock, Aitken & Waterman as the trio’s producers — Wow! was wholly assembled by the hitmaking team, which was also responsible for hits by Rick Astley, Kylie Minogue, Dead or Alive, Donna Summer, and countless others. This album is, therefore, a straightforward 1980s dance set, with several songs that went on to become international hits. The only track from this set to make the U.S. Top Ten was “I Heard a Rumour,” a sassy, joyous single just as infectious today as when first released. Also included is the sleek, lip-smackin’ disco hit “I Can’t Help It,” the engaging, European chart-topper “Love in the First Degree,” the single “I Want You Back,” and an extended mix of their version of the Supremes’ “Nathan Jones.” Some of the non-hits pale in comparison to the singles, among those the dated, 12″ version of “Some Girls”; the 12″ version of “Strike It Rich,” which, at some points, resembles an inferior version of “I Can’t Help It”; and “Bad for Me,” which unintentionally highlights the trio’s vocal limitations. Nonetheless, the singles were quite intoxicating, and this hard-to-find set is sure to please fans of Bananarama, or any fans of the Stock, Aitken & Waterman sound, which ruled the airwaves and nightclubs in the mid- to late ’80s. ~ Jose F. Promis, Rovi Performers: Ian Curnow – Fairlight; John O’Hara – Keyboards; Matt Aitken – Vocals (Background), Guitar, Keyboards; Mike Stock – Vocals (Background), Keyboards; Pete Waterman – Drums; Waterman – Drums

Wendy O. Williams wasted no time staking out a solo career following the Plasmatics’ 1983 breakup. She found a patron in Kiss’ tongue-wagging bassist Gene Simmons, who’d taken her old band on tour as a support act. The result led to Simmons’ first production work outside of Kiss (while he credited his bass playing as Reginald Van Helsing, a pseudonym that didn’t fool astute fans). Simmons felt that Williams could succeed on her own terms, with better material and production. Simmons was half-right: his impressive production work stacks saber-toothed guitars on lush keyboards without burying Williams’ two-fisted attitude. A solid supporting cast of former Plasmatics guitarist Wes Beech and drummer T.C. Tolliver doesn’t hurt. Neither do cameos by Kiss guitarists Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and late drummer Eric Carr. Simmons himself co-writes five tracks (which also carry the names of Plasmatics bassist Junior Romanelli and lead guitarist Richie Stotts, who aren’t actually on the album). Williams sounds sturdy and self-assured on the raunchy romps of “I Love Sex (And Rock ‘N’ Roll)” and “Bump and Grind,” although the standout track is the Simmons/Stanley anthem “It’s My Life,” a thumping pop-metal vow to “do what I like.” Another highlight is the pop ballad “Legends Never Die,” as close to a conventional vocal performance as Williams ever managed. (The main riff went unused on Kiss’ own Creatures in the Night album [1982], until Simmons dusted it off for inclusion here.) In some ways, Williams’ first solo venture amounts to a watered-down echo of the Plasmatics’ own bid for mainstream success, Coup d’Etat (1982), minus the latter record’s radical political bent. That’s not surprising, with the ever-career-conscious Simmons manning the producer’s chair. Despite his best efforts, however, Williams would stay a quintessential cult artist. While not a remarkable record, WOW offers a convincing enough glimpse of the stardom that should have been hers all along. ~ Ralph Heibutzki, Rovi Performers: Ace Frehley – Guitar; Eric Carr – Drums; Gene Simmons – Vocals (Background), Bass; Michael Ray – Guitar; Micki Free – Guitar (Acoustic); Mitch Weissman – Piano; Paul Stanley – Guitar; Reginald VanHelsing – Guitar (Bass); T.C.
