The current downturn in the economy has greatly affected many people and left them unable to pay their mortgages. In many cases, they are willing to sell them at a fraction of their original value just to clear the books and be part of the money that was lent to the back home. That gives you an excellent opportunity to purchase these homes and use them to make money.

While the market for the sale of homes has declined, the rental market is soaring. Some houses are likely to need a little TLC to make them usable, but after a small investment can become a great rental unit. You need to look closely at any of the bank owned properties for sale by the bank Wells Fargo or any other bank in your area and see whether or not the cost of the house and the cost of repairs leave you able to make money once the house is considered habitable.
