Chenille yarn is a wonderful and versatile manufacturer of soft and luxurious fabrics or knitted or crocheted. Unfortunately, working with caterpillars is not always a trouble-free enterprise. One of the most common problems associated with caterpillar is the tendency to de-worming when knitted. Deworming occurs when a loop of wire is detached from the knitted fabric and coils back on itself. We have encountered this problem from time time with one of our favorite son caterpillar, Muench Touch Me, and if we know how frustrating it can be.

Fortunately, if we understand what it is chenille which makes deworming, we can take steps to prevent it from happening. Son chenille tufts are constructed of short fibers embedded in a core of coiled son, And it is precisely this kind of spiral core wire, which gives rise to the parasite. It's like when you hold both ends of a length of string, then twist and turn and turn … Finally, if there is any slack in the rope, he will curl on itself. Chenille Twist begins with some built in it, and the more you twist present when the knitting, the greater the likelihood that you will get some vermifuge.

So here are some things you can try to reduce the likelihood of worming:

  1. Reduce the size needle – a closer spacing will the stitches in place and reduce the likelihood of worming. (Crocheting, which tends to produce a gauge tighter than knitting, is less likely to allow worming.)
  2. Take steps to reduce the amount of twist that you enter. Each sewing knitting introduces a small amount of twisted wire and mesh knit twist in the opposite direction PURL stitches. This is why every piece mesh entirely jersey knit stitch (knit all on one side, stitches all the upside on the other side) will roll over the edges. Balancing mesh knit with purl stitches, like the garter or no seed, may reduce the effect worming.
  3. Try knitting continental style. Continental-style knitting tends to introduce less Twist the son of English style (throwing the yarn).
  4. Knit the other end. If the turn is that you enter in the same direction as the twist of the son of database, you'll be much more likely to have problems with deworming. Of Working the other end in May the torsion balance of the core wire and reduce the parasite.
  5. Remember that some fibers have a greater tendency to worm. Slippery as rayon fibers and microfibers and other synthetic fibers are more likely than cotton worm. If your favorite track has a high percentage of fiber slippery, you may want to organize another son with her when knitting – other son may contribute to anchor your track in place.

A little knowledge can go a long way. If you have problems with deworming, experiment on some of the items listed above. Do not be afraid to work with wire as fine Muench Touch Me and do not give up! Keep trying until you find what works for you. Your reward is the plush, velvety chenille knitted.
